Dossier ("we", "our", or "us") is a detective mystery game developed for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Username: A display name you choose within the game. This is stored locally on your device.
• Game Progress: Your case completion status, purchased items, and achievements are stored locally using SharedPreferences.

2.2 Online Multiplayer Data

When you use the online co-op feature, we use Google Firebase to facilitate real-time multiplayer sessions. The following data is temporarily stored on Firebase servers:

• Game room codes and session IDs
• Your chosen username for the session
• In-game actions and role assignments during active sessions

This data is automatically deleted when the game session ends.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version (used for compatibility purposes only).
• Crash Data: If enabled, anonymous crash reports to help us improve the app.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain core game functionality
• To enable online multiplayer sessions
• To process in-app purchases through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• To improve the game experience and fix bugs

4. Data Storage and Security

Most game data is stored locally on your device only. We do not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our servers beyond temporary multiplayer session data.

Online multiplayer data is hosted on Google Firebase servers and is subject to Google Firebase's Privacy Policy.

5. In-App Purchases

Dossier offers optional in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: For online multiplayer functionality. Privacy Policy
• Google Fonts: For typography. Fonts are bundled with the app and no data is sent to Google servers at runtime.

7. Children's Privacy

Dossier is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us.

8. Your Rights

You can:

• Delete all local game data by uninstalling the app or using the "Reset Progress" option in Settings
• Play the game without using online multiplayer features
• Request information about any data we may hold

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
